Tara M. Hughes, of Westmont (formerly of Marlton), passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018, at the age of 36. Beloved daughter of Richard and Lorraine (nee Mitchell) Hughes. Loving sister of Amy Aviles (Abraham), Emily Dawson (Shawn) and Deirdre Hughes. Dear granddaughter of Betty Hughes. Dedicated aunt of Addison and Aiden Aviles. Tara is also survived by the love of her life, Sean Ward as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tara attended Cherokee High School (Class of 1999) before attending Immaculata College (Class of 2003) where she was a member of the Alpha Xi sorority. She was an active member in the community as an employee of the Cherry Hill School District, a teacher at St. Mary's in Williamstown and most recently as an IT Specialist at the Law School Admission Council in Newtown, PA.
Tara had an unmatched zest for life and a profound confidence in the kindness she exuded to everyone she met. Her thirst for life and knowledge led her to the passionate person she is remembered as being. Her passion for traveling—alone or with a road trip companion, her passions for dancing and involvement with Lindy and Blues, and her passion for music, both as a flutist and as an avid concert-goer.
Family and friends were the backbone of Tara's selflessness. Her enjoyment came from spending time with her niece and nephew, whether it was arts and crafts, adventures to new places, or "sleepovers at Aunt Tara's". She loved to bond with her sisters and took pride in being the "leader of the Wolfpack". Tara enjoyed planting vegetables in her garden, attending baseball games, and knitting hats for her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday, March 9, from 6 pm to 9 pm and again on Saturday from 9 am to 10 am at Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 and Evesham Road, Marlton, NJ.
