Anne Marie Ferko (Fierko)
Passed away on December 28, 2017 at Lutheran Crossing in Moorestown, NJ. She was 84 years old. She was the fourth of six children born to Anna and Steven Fierko in Philadelphia on July 10, 1933. She lived in South Philadelphia and attended St. Aloysius School from 1939 through 1947 and then graduated from Hallahan High School in June of 1951 and started working at the Naval Hospital in South Philadelphia in the PX concession store. She was then hired to work in the offices of Bonwit Teller Department Store until 1967, when she moved on to the Penn Center Inn, where she worked as a bookkeeper. In 1980, she resigned to take care of her mother, who was suffering from dementia. In 1982, she was hired as a mail clerk at Sun Oil Company's headquarters, and went on to become the Supervisor of the mailroom. She retired in August 1997. After her retirement, she moved to the Allison Apartments in Marlton, where she lived until she entered the assisted living facilities at Lutheran Crossings in April of 2015. She was predeceased by her parents. She was the beloved sister of the late Francis Fierko (the late Ann nee Bezak), the late Bernadette Houghton (Walter), the late Stephen Fierko (the late Theresa nee Stoughton), Joseph Fierko (Margaret nee McGonigle) and Edward J. Fierko (Darlene nee DiBella). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation 10-11am and to the Funeral Mass at 11am on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, all at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd., Marlton, NJ. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anne Marie Ferko, late Lutheran Crossings resident, may be made to the Lutheran Social Ministries of NJ Foundation, 3 Manhattan Dr., Burlington, NJ 08016.
