Obituary for Joseph Johnson

Joseph Johnson
Joseph H. Johnson, of Cherry Hill, died peacefully on Friday at the age of 87. On December, 1, 2017, the angels received a heavenly voice. Joseph is the beloved husband of late Lois Johnson (nee Miller); devoted father of Mark and wife Jody and Marilyn Williamson and husband James; dear brother of Richard (wife Ginny) and Karen (husband Emmett) and the late Madeline Renz; and adored grandfather of Charles, Lara, Taylor (husband Jesse) and Graeme.
Joseph was faithfully dedicated to the Lord, serving for four decades as an active member of St. Andrews Methodist Church as a choir member, soloist and past president of both Keenager Seniors and Men’s group. He was a quiet man with a sense of humor that kept his family laughing. Music was his greatest passion, both listening and singing. Joseph shared his amazing Baritone as a member of the Lewis Shearer Chorale, performing in over 50 musicals, hundreds of concerts and many weddings. Joseph discovered a love for ballroom dancing in his 70’s, and went on to win awards. He served our nation in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Corporal while also earning an accounting degree at Rutgers on the GI Bill.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, December 8 from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home on Route 73 and Evesham Road in Marlton, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew’s UMC and marked “Friends of Music” and mailed to 327 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
