Obituary for Evelyn D Contento (Keenan)

Evelyn D Contento (Keenan)
CONTENTO, Evelyn D. (nee Keenan), on November 25, 2017, of Mt. Laurel NJ, formerly of Wilmington DE. Age 81. Beloved wife of Cosimo H. Contento. Loving mother of James Contento, the late John Contento and Corinne Halabura and her husband, Stephen. Dearly loved grandmother of Jennifer Halabura Lang (Steven), Eric Halabura (Stephanie Pappas) and Jimmy E. Contento. She is the dear sister of Janet Welch and was predeceased by her parents, John and Marjorie Keenan and siblings, Eleanor, Dorothy, Buddy Keenan, Phyllis Hopkins, Corinne Jordan and Patrick Keenan. Mrs. Contento was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was a 1954 graduate of John the Baptist High School. She and her husband raised their family in Mt. Laurel where Evelyn owned and operated her interior decorating business, Eve’s Interiors. Her work included residential and commercial decorating and she was particularly proud of the work she did for the Diocese of Camden. She was a member of the NJ Women’s Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Catholic Church of St. Mary, where she helped organize the annual golf outing. A member of Ramblewood Country Club, she loved golfing and was active in the women’s league. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 10-10:45am at the Catholic Church of St. Mary 2001 Springdale Road Cherry Hill NJ where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday. Burial will follow at Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyn’s memory to curesma.org.
