Obituary for Lois Handzus

Lois Genevieve Handzus, 89 passed away at home on September 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born December 20, 1927, she was the daughter of Helen Nolan and Congressman Herman P. Eberharter of Pittsburgh, Pa. A master teacher with a talent in educating children with special needs, she delighted in bringing out the best in each child, and inspired children at the Sara R. Bircher School - Philadelphia, Pa; St. Joan of Arc - Marlton NJ; St. John of God - Deptford, NJ and concluded her career serving for 21 years as Director of Special Services in Greenwich Township, NJ. She is survived by her devoted husband, George, her loving children, Wayne and Blaine Handzus and Linda Gerdes and her beloved grandchildren Anna, Nadya, Kaylee and Julianne. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 7-9pm Thursday, September 28 and 9:30-10:30am Friday, September 29 at BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, State Hwy. 73 South and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, September 29 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd., Marlton, NJ. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Medford Village. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 3 Eves Dr., Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
