Obituary for Robert F. Ursomarso

Robert Francis Ursomarso, Jr., Bob to his friends and family, age 55 of Marlton NJ, died of cancer after a brief and courageous fight, on Sunday, October 19th, 2014. Bob was the son of the late Robert Francis Ursomarso Sr. and the late Angelina Storniolo Ursomarso.

Born June 7, 1959 in Darby PA, Bob attended Archmere Academy in Wilmington DE and graduated from Haverford College in 1981 with a BA in economics. He was a wonderful athlete and played both basketball and baseball at Haverford.
Following his graduation from college, he taught mathematics at Archmere Academy. He was the boys JV Baseball and Basketball Coach and coached the basketball team to the state semi-finals. In 1999, Archmere inducted Bob into their Sports Hall of Fame.

In 1983, Bob joined Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor and five years later earned the titles of Vice President and Managing Director. He managed Merrill Lynch offices in Ann Arbor, MI, Allentown, PA and Marlton, NJ and was recognized by the company for outstanding performance as one of their top achievers. Bob retired from Merrill Lynch in November 2007, but returned as an Advisor until 2012. Following his career there, and until he became ill, Bob was a partner and private wealth manager at The Philadelphia Group in King of Prussia, PA.

Bob enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and golf. He was a member at Saucon Valley Country Club and Little Mill Country Club. And, he was an inspiration to all of his friends and associates at Pine Valley Golf Club. His golfing stories were legendary and grew more humorous with the passage of time. His incredible sense of humor about life always kept everyone laughing.

Bob loved teaching and gave of himself as a volunteer basketball coach working with middle school youth at St. Joan of Arc Church in Marlton. He was always thinking of others and, when he was with you, you were the most important person in the room.

But Bob's real passion was his family - they were his true pride and joy. Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife and best friend of 30 years, Susan Cosgarea Ursomarso, his daughter, Jennifer Ann Crain and husband Tyler, his son Michael Robert Ursomarso, his brother Frank Ursomarso as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends and family are invited to his viewing on Friday, October 24 from 6 to 9pm at Bradley’s Funeral Home, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton NJ. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd, Marlton, NJ. Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or Cooper Cancer Institute (cooperhealth.org/cancer).
